Just Another Q&A Thread

Oh. Do you happen to play other FPS games?
At the moment, no. Although I do bounce back to Payday 2 off-and-on, and there's a tournament for Star Wars Battlefront (2004) that will be happening soon, of which I'll be participating in. Guns of Icarus is another fun one, although it's teamwork-based, so solo players will inevitably be killed fast. Actually planning on getting my Battlefront clan involved with GoI, and if you ever want to play it sometime just give me a shout. :tongueout:

Why are you into racing games?
Well, it kind of started for me (memory wise) when my dad bought a copy of Need For Speed: Underground 2 for our Nintendo GameCube. From there I just kind of had an interest in cars. Though the more I think about it, I guess it predates that. Even when I was around 3 or 4, my parents bought a little racing game toy for me (had the monochrome screen in the wheel, you just simply had to move the car around to avoid traffic). While I cannot find an exact image, I believe the game was relatively close to this:

Plus, I even had Hot Wheels cars as a kid (lots of them, some I haven't seen in ages because my parents hid them away), and I raced those cars a lot. Also, given my parents both have a background in the automotive industry (my dad's dad worked as a body man on cars, my dad worked a few summers at a car dealership, my mom's dad was a mechanic on the side (he was a blacksmith), and her brothers are both a body man and a mechanic). I think it's clear to see why I have an interest and cars, which extends to racing games. :tongueout:

I reckon you are familiar with Speed Racer?

Pumped for any games that might be released for the rest of 2016? Any thoughts on DOOM 2016 as well?
Also, another question, but what do you think of the fact that Doom, on it's early days was heavily attacked by the religious groups because of the game's theme: you going to hell and killing every demon in it? Do you honestly think that games can cause mental disturbance's in people to the point where they turn violent? @_@
Sorry for the amount of questions, I just like to hear people's opinions on these matters.

I am indeed. I watched The Next Generation series as a matter of fact (haven't seen the original) and have also seen the movie that did poorly. :tongueout:

Pumped for Gran Turismo Sport actually, and the eventual release of Star Wars: Galaxy In Turmoil (though whether it'll be released in 2016 or not remains to be seen). Other than that, if there is a new Star Wars game to be released by the fall time for Star Wars, odds are I will have some interest. Outside of Star Wars, not a whole lot appeals to me, but Forza Horizon 3 looks good (still hoping for a continuation of the Motorsport series though).

As for Doom 2016, I saw the walkthrough that Markiplier played, and while I admit the graphics for the game are absolutely stunning and such, I don't have a huge interest in Doom entirely (plus, violence was over-the-top IMO).

As for the game being attacked by religious groups, I'm indifferent. Wherever there is a flaw in something, people will pick at it, if it goes against their beliefs, they will hate on it. It's simply the nature of humans, we're a very critical people (in the sense we criticize everything), if we don't like something, we make a notion of it, whether it be a big notion or a small one.

As for games causing a mental disturbance, it's very likely. Consider that some MMORPG players are so dedicated to the game they starve themselves to death almost (I've also heard stories of some MMO players who basically let their children starve because they're so immersed into the game). My thinking, if games can cause an addiction to go so far it affects us physically, it will undoubtedly affect us psychologically (i.e., nightmares from playing too many horror games). Much as I would throw in that some real life murders were re-enacted via video games, the bulk of that is speculation on that end.

What are your plans for the future?
Just had a job assessment test today, though I am waiting to hear on the results of that. As far as moving forward, part-time job is top priority (not only for college, but also for getting a PS4/Thrustmaster T300/GT Sport). Unfortunately, given the lack of jobs available in the summer, my best bet would be to start hunting in September.
