Just Another Q&A Thread

Are you capable of removing watermarks on photos with the technology you currently possess?

And you said Ninjak will most likely be successful if he were to be adapted for a movie, but wouldn't he bump into DC and Marvel in theaters either way?

Ninjak is also a spy. There really isn't a game out there that combines ninjutsu and espionage right?
I probably have the software for it, the issue is I lack the knowledge to perform it. :tongueout:

And true, he would contend with DC/Marvel, but at least on the silver screen he'd have a bigger chance to compete than with a TV series.

And as for a game combining ninjutsu and espionage, Hitman's about as close as it gets IMO, and 47 isn't even a ninja.

Do you think Dex-Starr will be a playable character in Injustice 2?

Okay

Alright, I guess so. People would usually rather watch a movie than a TV Series nowadays.

Hmm...but Agent 47 uses more traditional weapons, wherein Ninjak uses exotic and unique tech. You might argue that the Arkham games also uses exotic and unique tech to, but the Arkham games creative takedowns are not as open-ended (if that is the right term) as Dishonored and Hitman. Plus, you have more creative options of taking down an opponent if you kill him instead (unlike Batman).

While it would blend to be a mix between Hitman and Batman, I still don't think it would become all that big (though that's also dependent on who Valiant can source their material through in regards to developers). While we can discuss this topic all-day, we probably should be thinking, what studio would be the best choice for Valiant to source their content to for game publishing?

And in regards to Dex-Starr, only if Injustice 2 focuses a plot around the Green Latern Corp, or rather encompasses the Spectrum War to a good length. Even then, he'd have a low chance to be featured in the campaign, most likely he'd be a bonus character to unlock if they add him in.

Do the names "Lord Vine 99" and "Sunlight on Snow" fill you with interest?

That seems to be a better question. Which leads me to another...what is the difference between game developers and game publishers?

I'll admit, I'm not a massive comic book guy, so off-hand those names fill me with curiosity as I've never heard them.

In regards to the differences, developers usually create the content, publishers clear the red tape for the content, get it liscensed, and get word out for the content and promote it mostly. Often times the developers have to sacrifice something to have the publisher go ahead with it, i.e., a cut from sales, or some form of creative license. On the latter, usually this involves the game attaining a certain rating from the ESRB, focused on a certain age group, limitations to gameplay, etc.

You can find out everything about them so far in the series "Imperium" by Joshua Dysart. It is a really really great and underated series. Tackles politics and economy for the most part, while being a great character driven title in my point of view. It recently ended and only 16 issues long. Of course...simply saying it is a great series does not interest you no? I have to dive deeper on the concepts of the title?

So...one of the reasons why developers have publishers is because they are usually the ones responsible for promoting the game and trying to get more people play the game? I think I can see why they are quite necessary for game developers now. But on the downside, developers have to do favors from the publishers (cut from sales, add DLC) before they decide to promote the game?

That's usually how some publishers such as EA handle things out. Though often times a company as big as EA can double as a developer and publisher, so there is still some tugging from both sides of the company, but more often than not the board of directors has final say as to how the game is marketed for maximum profits (in EA's case anyway). Not all games suffer from those sorts of sacrifices, though, but more often than not some games have had features cut either to meet deadlines or because it wouldn't conform to a system properly.

And in regards to the comic, if there's an online link for it I'll give it a go. If it's hard-copy only/buy online, however, then I won't end up reading it due to the fact I lack proper online purchasing methods (aside from Steam :tongueout:).

Do you think they will pull of V.R. Player Movement by developing a treadmill of sorts, or something else entirely that is not too tiring?

Actually, there has been R&D on that type of tech. I remember a while back seeing a tech demo of actually mapping a player's foot movement on a treadmill-style device, as well as a belt and "rifle" on him to simulate combat. As far as VR mapping of human movement, treadmill is likely, or additionally (and costly), develop a 6-degrees-of-freedom system where your body is suspended with a harness, and the walls/floor are lined with sensors to accurately track physical movement. As far as something less tiring however, doubtful.

I find it cheeky that you pinned your own thread, also do you ever wish you could be an Attack Helicopter?

Actually, De pinned it for me since it's the most popular Q&A thread on the OTL. And no, I have no intention of being a helicopter armed with weapons, that has a high probability of being shot out of the air via ground-to-air explosive devices.

the last two games will be a mashup that you'll live in
what are those two games?
(for example the last to games i played were CoD BO3 and Battlefield4

Need For Speed: Minecraft.

I could live with that. :tongueout:

Like, if you could own ANY car in the world, what would it be?
Well, I've a list divided upon category:
  • Sedan: 1990 Cadillac Brougham, or a 2015 Toyota Corolla S
  • Truck: Chevrolet S-10/GMC Sonoma
  • Hatchback: Hyundai Veloster Turbo, or a Nissan Micra
  • Coupe: Scion tC
  • Crossover: Toyota Venza/Ford Flex
  • Wagon: Mitsubishi Legnum
  • SUV: Toyota 4Runner
  • Minivan: Toyota Hiace (those things are so small, but I admire the Japanese for how they can cram so many luxuries into those tiny things).
