Who Here Plays Guitar? (Bass/Electric/Acoustic/etc.)

This is the one bass I intend to get someday (when I'm willing to blow almost $2000 for a guitar):

The Fender American Standard Precision Bass. Mystic Red color, with Rosewood fretboard, and a white pickguard to complement it. My idea, of a truly awesome bass guitar.

180 isn't Alot
To some, it isn't. For me to afford it all on my own while trying to also save up for college, it's a fair bit, considering in my life I've rarely spent cash on things, and most often the money I have on hand is simply pocket change. :tongueout:

Plus, ya gotta remember I'm a Canadian, and thanks to the currency exchange not fairing well for the Canadian dollar, I have to rack $230 CDN to match that price ($250 actually including tax).

Ask your parents for it
I asked my parents for my Kingman initially (which was $400, with case included), and that became my birthday/Christmas gift. They said they wouldn't help me get the next one, and I promised them I'd buy it with my own money. :tongueout:

Maybe get a job?
I intend to get a job so I can afford it. I don't know how much I have in my account for the moment, but either way, I'l be getting a job soon regardless. :tongueout:

I am kind of curious though, do you guys play with your fingers, or with a pick? I do a mix of both for bass (finger for the slow songs, pick for the faster ones).

Picks , my nails aren't long

Figured I'd update the thread. Just so you all know, this is my current spread of bass guitars:

From L-R:
Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Special HB, Fender Kingman Acoustic, 1970s Ventura Semi-Hollow/Gibson Semi-Hollow Knockoff

Joining the fender group eh?

How lon have you had them?
The Kingman I got last Christmas, and I got the Jaguar yesterday. The Ventura/Gibson Knockoff is my dad's. Its been in the family for 30 years, with the bass at around 40 or so years old.

The Ventura looks pretty old compared to the others

I have a Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom Vertigo. This Hubba costed about 4,000$ :fearscream: But I was 14 at the time and my parents really tried to encourage my music taste (Too bad I'm not in the music industry now)
Whoa, trippy electric! A tad bit expensive to push someone into music, but then again, I've seen weirder. :tongueout:

Do you still play your electric actively, or no?
