Ramen Experimenting with R. Red Rederax(aka Ruby Rose)

Ruby Rose

The Silver Eyed Warrior
I love ramen noodles, but recently the one I normally cook started to taste bland. So went on a journey(in the kitchen) to find a way to make my ramen noodles not bland!
Please notice that this was not a full blown experiment. There are many things I did differently on purpose to save some time. Also I do not guarantee tasty noodles if you put in the same winning ingredients as I did, for I was doing this for my own personal taste.
Ramen noodle Operation 1.1:
After boiling the water and putting in the flavoring package(chicken) I tried out some stuff that was in my mum's kitchen. Here's the list and how I thought good they went with the ramen:
Salt: gave it a check mark, brought out some flavoring which I liked.
Parsley: check mark, brings out some flavoring to but probably is best when mixed with another seasoning(see Ramen Operation 1.2)
Onion powder: gave it an X, did not like at all.
Soy sauce: check mark, gave additional flavoring as well a pleasing smell.
Teiyaki sauce: X, it took me a few chew but the flavoring was just not right.
Garlic powder: was Okay(neither X nor check mark).
Pepper: was Okay.
After figuring out what I liked most I proceeded to find certain mixtures of seasoning I like with each other.
1.2:
Since Salt, Parsley and Soy all had check marks I only used those for a winning ramen recipe.
Salt&Parsley: check mark, they two of them combined tasted well together. I think it would be a great mixture for when you have a cold.
Parsley&Soy: check mark, tasted delicious.
Salt,Parsley, and Soy: check mark and the winning ramen. Now I have some new tasting ramen to like!
For Fun:
I mixed all the X marked and Okay ingredients together. This is what it tasted like:
NASTY, once it touched my tongue I spat it right out and gave it to my dog(i give it extra credit for good dog food :tongueout:)

I may experiment a bit more with ramen but that's all I have for now! Hope you injoyed it

The real question remains, what happens when you boil the water, add flavor package, add ramen, and let the water boil out?

Also, bullion cubes may be worth a try, I wouldn't exactly recommend it cause the flavoring in Ramen is basically bullion cubes

Mabye that will be an experiment for next time. ;]
Also I'm not quite sure what you mean by billion cubes.

Bullion cubes are what you add to soup to add flavor. 1 bullion cube=1 bowl of soup. NEVER eat them raw or you will mildly throw up from richness

I've never seen a thread like this before in the forums.
What if, you mix both the OK ingredients?

Try using low water to cook teh noodlz, then drain and add teh flavor packets after...
Trust me, Its a bad idea

psh, i dunno who will see dis buuuuuuuut here are some things i tried with my ramen, and a thing or two you should probably try not to do -3-
i noticed that i could probably add a bit of flavor to my ramen if i used some of the chicken pot roast left overs from the day prior to making my ramen, so i grabbed a container and took a spoonful of gravy and poured it there (don't worry if your gravy is goo-ish and semi-solid, it'll do the job just fine) i also took a bit of a chicken wing and dropped it, and it tasted pretty good, do note to add a little tiny pinch of salt on it, just to get the flavor out a little more and give it a nice poke on your tongue when tasting it
and for what you should avoid
don't add too much of anything, it'll ruin it, and not everyone has dogs around so that's a thing
if you're adding spices, don't add spices that wont dissolve and will just roam around in the soup, it'll turn your nice soup to hazardous poison, and that's about it really, i'll see what i can find out as a part-time Ramen scientist xP
