Is it not a bit risky? I mean if you give random people from the community the password, they can easily waste this channel and can upload all they want. I belive it's better to choose tested people from the community from who you think they are perfect for that, like CameronAndElliotFTW, Cheezah Gamin or KB Standard. I am not against this project but i think it's better to choose people who proved that they're the right ones.

Excluding MD?

I personally think its a good idea (I'd do it myself, but I'm not sure how many people would jump on board if it happened), with the exception of how are you going to make it public and widely known? The forums isn't a big place.

Funnily enough, my Alpha Clan once tried to startup a YouTube channel, where we all would do vids (because we could all record our game), however it didn't quite take off. Here's my advice for you (or anyone) that wants to attempt this sort of community idea:

  • If you are going to have multiple people involved, make sure you can trust them. This is just common sense here. Make sure you hire people who are trustworthy, like your friends or such. Asking any random guy who can record a crappy "potato" vid is not exactly the ideal route you'd want to go.
  • Use a Cloud Storage service. When you are having a group of people make the videos, it's best if you have a cloud storage system to go with it. One of your guys may want to make a clip vid of showing off trickshots or something, so you may want to give him some of your clips for him to use in the video. At that point, it's easier and much faster than email.
  • Make sure you have the right tools. Nobody is going to watch a Pixel Gun vid that was recorded off-device with a camera, and the player had his tablet infront of it. Yes it can sometimes work, but it rarely gets much speculation. Using an in-device recorder (like the one Android has or an app for iOS like iRec) will definitely help boost up popularity, even better if you can get it in hi-res. Capture cards are even better to use (albeit expensive). You also want to make sure you have good editing software. Windows Movie Maker and iMovie can only go so far until they're at their limits. I recommend Final Cut, or if you have the money, Sony Vegas.
  • NEVER change the password without everyone knowing! Again, common sense. If you're going to change the password, make sure you send out a document in your cloud service group stating that you changed it and that there's a new password. Not too sure why you'd want to, but this'd probably be the best way to notify everyone if you did.
That's all I got. Sorry if it sounds more like a thread-on-its-own type of post, but I just wanted to get some solid points out there so it doesn't turn into a disaster.

Do you wanna be in the channel goldy?
While I can't record anything (yet), I would like to at least have a hand in starting up the basis for it. Once it's become successful enough however, I might step away and let it take it's course, assuming I can't record yet.
