Chapter 3.5: A Sudden Turn of Events
A few weeks after the raid on Silent School, things are pretty much back to normal, at least for a while if it wasn't for all this dater crap. "Good day, Ultimate. We have some good news and bad news." The Commander said as he approached me while I'm just watching TV, not minding about anything else. "What is it, sir?" I immediately asked just right after he finished his statement. "The good news is, your assault on the school was successful, despite your friend's outcome. But don't worry about him, he's okay now and will be returning to the fight soon. Bad news is, *clears throat* you're getting yourself some new friends." The Commander replied. "What do you mean, 'new friends'?" I asked as I was bothered by his bad news. "Yes, I'm afraid you're no longer fighting with Thomas and Kenneth, both of them are reassigned to another squad. But you can still expect to see them in future operations. However, we still don't know who are the ones you will be fighting with soon. They came from a special forces group that was known for numerous successful combat operations." The Commander replied. Looks like I'm gonna meet some new friends, huh? Wonder what would those guys be like... "Well, that's all for now, now go get some rest, Ultimate. I bet you will be informed about your new friends in a while." The Commander then exited my room. I went to to fridge to get me some water, sat on the couch and watched the news. The reporter started talking about the daters. This is quite interesting...
"We now interrupt your program with an update from the ongoing war against the opposing dater forces. I'm Dave McBlockson reporting for Pixel News at 10."
A video clip of fighter jets flying over the East Coast appeared, probably not some good news.
"The fighter jets were reported to be from the daters and are possibly going to conduct aerial attacks in retaliation to the combat operations against their fellow daters. That's all we know from the ongoing war, let's all just hope our allied forces can take care of this imminent threat."
