Hi, Pixelgamer/Rufus here.

I just wanted to advertise an underrated PC game, which goes by the name of "Blockstorm". I know that GoldMan27 made a thread about this game almost two years ago, but I wanted to describe Blockstorm from my point of view with my over 1100 hours of playtime on Steam.

From the outside you'll think it's just another first-person shooter with blocky graphics like PG3D/PGW, Guncraft or Ace of Spades, but it has way more to offer than just monotonous shootings. In fact, you can create your own character skins, weapon skins, maps, zombie skins, turret skins and mecha skins inside the game's editor and upload them on the Steam workshop! Some people even made use of the game mechanics (including me (^-^)/ ) and developed revolutionary mechanisms inside the map editor. That allowed people to create mechanical/functional maps!

There is even a "Blockstorm Ninja Warrior", can you believe it?! Here's the link to the newest BNW video (BNW 7)
Soon BNW 8 will begin and the organizer of it would probably be glad to see some new faces! But beware, he's the devil incarnate. D:

Besides that, there are even some events (, which'll take place more often now because the organizer of them finally has more time) like the "OMG Night" (Official Minigame Night) and the CubeSmash Event, in which you build something with blocks that'll be judged later.

So you see Blockstorm has a very creative side, which knows no limits! (There are some restrictions in the editor though, which don't allow you to make your creations too thin/small or to thick/big. The guy on the group picture with the ":^)-skin" is an example for that.) If you're just looking for a blocky fps, then Blockstorm is the right place as well! Just fill the 0-6 slots of your loadout and start fighting against your enemies in the game modes Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Assault, Castle Battle and Hunt.

Overall you can spend a lot of time and have a lot of fun in that game like I did and still do. For some it can even be a good alternative to Pixel Gun 3D/World. (=゚ω゚)ノ

I tried it. It felt weird.

I'd play Blockstorm more if not for some of the toxic players, lack of servers with good ping, and Shotgun abuse
I rarely encounter any toxic players, but if I do then I just mute them. The same also applies to Shotgun abusers, but it's really fun to knife them if they want to get near you. I rather find that there is a AK-47 abuse. As a Rifle user it's hard to concentrate on shooting an AK-47-spamming user in the head... ='P
But I have to give you right about the servers. There are approximately 2-4 full servers at the same time(, which are located in Europe, Asia and at three places in the US) and the rest is populated with a few to no players. IndieGala doesn't advertise Blockstorm enough, so we loyal players have to do that. That's one goal of my advertisement to make more people play Blockstorm and revive the other servers. Another goal is that people have fun playing it.

Dang, I made that thread nearly two years ago? My goodness. O_O

In any case, glad to see you still play the game, Pixelgamer! I would play it, but my life right now and my emotions surrounding it have led me to not play it in a long while. Mainly in part due to my lack of playing PC games these days, and additionally because I just don't have the same interest in FPS titles as I once did.

Nonetheless, glad to hear you talk about it some more. My thread only ever had banter about the game between RudeWolf and I, though it's nice to see some actual discussion about the game on here.

Also, the forum for it, I believe the forum either closed down or moved to a new address. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the site (or any knowledge of it still being active), so if you happen to have a link to the forum Pixelgamer, that'd be much appeeciated.

Oh, I see. I've heard you have gotten a job. That's great to hear! I do hope you still have enough time for games. :0

Yeah, you and RudeWolf motivated me to play Blockstorm. Thank you for informing me and others about Blockstorm back then. ^^ Me and RudeWolf are playing Blockstorm ever since and we still aren't bored from it.

Regarding the official Blockstorm forum, well, I unfortunately have to say that it has been shut down by IndieGala. T_T IndieGala made a sub-forum for Blockstorm in their own forum, but rarely anyone ever posts there anything. T_T

November 20th, 2014. I can hardly believe it was that long ago myself. o.o

I was motivated to play it after reading Gold's thread, but I lost interest quick after playing it, especially after getting my jabroni butt whipped by the likes of RudeWolf. '._.

Anyways, at the moment, like Gold, I don't really play as much PC games as I used to, but when I have the time, I'm willing to give the game a spin again!
