Neighborhood Watch Sign-Up Thread!

Hello everyone,

For those who've been around for a year or so, you may remember the Moderators had installed a user-based system called the Neighborhood Watch. Their duty was to be on during the afterhours (when the Staff are offline and spambots roam about), and report spambots/unruly doings during these hours.

For a while, we retired the system thanks to the promotion of Sagitarius to Moderator. Now with his absence, spambots roam the nights still, and we need your help!

For those who wish to join this group take note you will be apart of 1 or 2 crews (or both if you can handle it). There will be a Morning Crew (helps nab spambots/report wrongdoings in the early morning), and a Night Crew (same as the Morning Crew, only at night).

Requirements:
  • Must have been an active user on the forum for more than 2 weeks
  • Must be able to work in either crew
  • Must specify timezone (helps keep everyone in contact easier, account for Daylight Savings Time as well if your region supports it!)

I will take the place of Morning Crew and Night Crew. Also I'm in Central, it doesn't matter which Crew I can be on.

Night Crew:
12:00AM-6:00AM EDT (or 11:00PM-5:00AM EDT, pending on activity)
Morning Crew:
5:00AM-9:00AM EDT (or 6:00AM-8:00AM EDT, pending on activity)

EDIT: It's weird that I'm the only neigborhood watch member who lives in the east coast.

I come in at odd times though it's mostly towards the evening. So I guess put me on the Night Crew. I don't exactly get the timezones that much but I think I'm Eastern Central Time.
 
I can take on both, if that is actually allowed. MYT (I don't know how to specify timezones)

If you can at least clarify the UTC offset I can usually get a good idea which timezone you are in. I only asked Harold101 the question because his timezone is harder to actually pinpoint (since there are multiple regions in China that use the UTC +8 offset).

UTC +8 (is that how it goes actually? I learned about these before but, kabush.... Gone)

UTC stands for Coordinated Universal Time. If it's UTC -4, that means that the timezone is behind UTC time by 4 hours. However, many regions use UTC - or +, since very few timezones are in UTC ±0 (this means the region is in the UTC timezone).

The issue for me lies in what timezone you are in geographically. Many regions in Asia use UTC +8 as their offset, so I just need to know which region you are in at least. I don't intend to use this information for anything other than purely knowing what timezone region everyone is in, so I and other members can expect to see you on at certain times throughout the day (which is different depending on what timezone everyone lives in).

Ah, ok, that narrows it down a tad. I'll update the main post once I've added the timezone in.
 
A 6-month old BUMP for this thread.

I just need an update for everyone who was/still is a part of the Neighborhood Watch Committee (assuming some of you are still a part of it).

Simply post your name (if you are currently on the list), if you are/still want to be a part of the NWC. Also, if you wish to sign up for this, follow the signup format posted in the original post (OP for short). If you have changed your timezone since signing up on this thread, please re-state your current timezone in UTC offset (geographical timezone is optional though highly recommended to add) should you wish to rejoin the NWC.

Currently listed members who do not reply by next Tuesday will be removed from the list.

Legendary Pro Heavy, still active in two weeks, hasn't change the time zone for now, still on Morning and Night Crew.
 
I can do Morning Crew, but I may miss the first half hour or so of my shift due to school.
My timezone is AEDT (UTC+11), but may change depending on daylight savings.

Also, just to clarify, but are the Morning Crew times still EDT 12AM to 6AM? I'm working off that, and if they're any different, I'm unsure if I'll be able to take part.

Night Crew is generally 10 PM -6 AM EDT, with morning doing 6 AM-10 AM EDT. If you are unable to cover the entire thing, that's fine. Even being on for an hour or two in that timeframe helps too. :tongueout:

Alright, sign me up. I should be able to do 12:30AM to 6AM (Night Crew), if that's fine.
